One of our longest-running celebrations is the Top of the Mountain Dance Party. This year we are celebrating with the Tom of Finland Foundation!
In 1984, the nonprofit Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) was established by the artist Tom of Finland (1920 – 1991) and Durk Dehner. As Tom had established worldwide recognition as the master of homoerotic art, the Foundation’s original purpose was to preserve his vast catalog of work. Several years later the scope was widened to offer a safe haven for all erotic art in response to rampant discrimination against art that portrayed sexual behavior or generated a sexual response. ToFF continues in its efforts of educating the public as to the cultural merits of erotic art and in promoting healthier, more tolerant attitudes about sexuality. Today, the mission includes the work of hundreds of artists, an artist residency, juried art competitions, and international art fairs and exhibitions all over the world.
Dance the night away at the top of Aspen Mountain. It begins with a fantastic 18-minute gondola ride to the top of Aspen Mountain. Cuddle up as you and your friends will ascend into the starlight sky with unparalleled views of Aspen at night. Then as you exit the gondola at 11,000 feet, be ready for a moment of crisp cold air and enter into the Sundeck, that has been transformed into a nightclub on top of the world. There will be select complimentary cocktails starting at 9pm from our sponsors.
