Aspen Chapel service on ‘Inclusivity’

With speaker Bishop Karen P. Oliveto, the first openly gay bishop in The United Methodist Church. Her wife, Robin Ridenour, a nurse anesthetist, is a deaconess in The United Methodist Church.

The service will be a meditation on the nature of inclusivity.

Karen P. Oliveto

Bishop Karen Oliveto is a United Methodist Bishop serving the states of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Utah. Prior to this she was senior pastor of the 12,000-member Glide Memorial United Methodist Church in San Francisco. Bishop Oliveto is the first openly gay bishop in The United Methodist Church. Her wife, Robin Ridenour, a nurse anesthetist, is a deaconess in The United Methodist Church.

She is one of the primary leaders in making a major change in the national United Methodist Church which will become more personally inclusive and philosophically progressive.

She will be speaking on the first day of Aspen Gay Ski Week, January 16, at the Aspen Chapel worship service at 9:30 am. An additional question and answer session will follow from 11 am to noon. All are invited. For more information contact Gregg Anderson at greggaspen@comcast.net or 970 920 0077.
